Stop watching Claude type. Hand it the whole job, walk away, and come back to finished work

Connected to your documents, spreadsheets and mail, so it can act instead of waiting to be fed.
Give a multi-step task once and watch it get done, rather than steering every turn.
Decide exactly where it should stop and ask, and where it shouldn't.
One job happening every Monday, without you remembering to start it.

You see the actual gap - not clever prompting, but giving Claude your context and your own material to work on.

Set up around your own work, and running on it before the session is half over.

The two places Claude will mislead you, caught in seconds - so using it well and using it safely become one habit.

Three of your own jobs, packaged up to rerun next week, without starting from a blank chat.
Almost everyone’s relationship with Claude is a conversation. You ask, it answers, you read it, you ask again. It’s useful, and it is also an enormous amount of you in the loop - you’re still the one carrying the work from step to step, doing the fetching and the pasting and the deciding what happens next.
The change worth learning is handing over the whole job. Not “write me a paragraph about this” but “go through these, work out which ones matter, and draft what needs drafting” - given once, to something that can open your files and use your tools, and left to get on with it while you do something else.
That change is smaller than it sounds and harder than it looks. It needs Claude connected to where your work actually lives, and it needs you to brief properly, which most of us are out of practice at. Anyone who has managed someone will recognise the shape of it: describe the outcome, not the keystrokes; say where to check in; be specific about what “done” means.
So we spend the afternoon doing it. Connect things up, hand over a real job, watch it go wrong somewhere, and learn what to have said instead. Then a proper block on trust - reviewing delegated work without simply redoing it, and being honest about the jobs that still shouldn’t leave your hands.
It’s deliberately small. You’ll be able to say “that would never be allowed near our file server” and get a real answer, which is the whole reason to do this live rather than watching a video at 1.5×.
Which is the point. Every block ends with a job that ran on your own material while you watched it happen. The running order below is UK time; the session times at the top of the page are shown in yours.
A quick round of what everyone would delegate first if they could. We use your real jobs for the rest of the session, so this genuinely shapes the afternoon.
What actually changes when Claude can open your files and use your tools, why most people never make the switch, and the one habit that gets in the way - describing steps instead of describing the outcome.
Documents, spreadsheets, mail and chat. What connects, what it can see once connected, how to scope that down, and what to do when your IT policy says no to half of it.
Coffee, stand up, look out of a window. Back at twenty past.
A real multi-step job on your own material, given once and left to run. We'll watch what it does, stop it where it goes wrong, and learn to write the brief that would have prevented that.
Where to make it stop and ask, how to review what it did rather than rereading everything, and an honest look at the jobs it still shouldn't have. Bring something you'd be nervous about delegating.
Turning the job you just handed over into one that happens every week without you remembering - and knowing how you'll find out if it stops.
We write yours down so it can be rerun and handed on, and each pick the one job to delegate first when you're back at your desk.
